What is a Funeral Celebrant

20 years ago, your only choice was a straightforward Cremation or Burial service, which was either religious or non-religious depending on your beliefs.  Now we can create a hybrid funeral service, with a blended ceremony of religious and non-religious content to suit your personal requirements. You could choose to have the ceremony at a Crematorium, Cemetery, Woodland Burial site, beach, hillside, another public space (as long as we ask permission), or even at your own home.

As your Celebrant, I will help you create an order of service for the ceremony, and can write a personalised eulogy in memory of your loved one, unless you would like to write this yourself.  I would spend an hour or two with you, so that you can decide what sort of service you would like, share biographical details about their life and family, stories, hobbies, what music they liked and anything else that you would like included (or excluded). You can then add readings, photographs, hymns, other music and anything symbolic that gives a personal touch to the service.  You could have a copy of a favourite book or even their favourite cakes brought along to the ceremony.
